FYI - my website is completely down while my new software is installing for me to rebuild it.
Meanwhile, I'm digging through random pics to use on my new site. I ran across a photo of me at Christmas in 1978, just before my 3rd birthday. And look what I got...it's my first camera! I guess that just proves that I've always been behind the lens. :)
Yes boys & girls, I am finally back! Well, mostly anyway. :) There has been a ton of stuff going on these last several months, and I am finally getting everything squared away. I still don't have my home office unpacked or set up yet, but I am functioning. LOL. Here are some updates on what's new...
* I am on hiatus from OpLove sessions, and only accepting inquiries from previous/current clients.
* I am in the middle of switching to a new proofing software. The current software will be eliminated on March 30, 2013. More details on the new system once I get it figured out.
* I am considering getting rid of my current business website and using this blog, with modifications, as my primary site. I'll keep you updated.
* New Business Addition coming soon - Pet Photography!
* Anyone in or know some around the Junction City, Kansas area? One of my friends, Trey Allen, was recently diagnosed with Mutiple Myeloma (cancer of the blood cells). They are having a Benefit Ranch Rodeo, Calf Fry, and Silent Auction on May 26th. If you can attend, donate, or even help spread the word...any & all help is greatly appreciated! The transfer is complete! I have switched my proofing software, and all client proofs are loaded onto the new system. In doing so, your favorites are no longer saved from the old system, but I have a list of them on file. If you wish to retrieve them, please email me.
The new software is much more user-friendly and easy to understand! The product list now shows categories for packages, prints, memorabilia, albums, etc or you can View All. There is also a small pic of each product and a brief description. This way, you can see what you are purchasing. There is also the option to register/login to save you Favorites, save you Shopping Cart, and view your Order History. For all my OpLove families, you will also notice the included "freebies" in the Featured Products list on the right side of the screen.

After over a month of testing, trial-runs, and client surveys of different proofing software, I have finally decided on one. It is much easier to maneuver in, the products/packages are categorized better, and the design matches my website and blog. All these wonderful benefits without the cons of having to increase my prices to justify an expensive system. :)
So effective the late evening of March 31st, all my client's current proofs will switch to the new software. Just before I make it active, I will save a copy of all your "favorites" on the old system. Your proofs will immediately be active (with the same login information) on the new site. If you need your list of Favorites sent to you, no prob. Just shoot me an email, and I will get it over asap!
I apologize for the inconvenience of the switch, but I have no doubt you will appreciate the ease of the new system. As always, thanks for your patience as I attempt to make your experience better.

Everything is 100% up and running. The blog link works: www.myblog.angela-wilkes.com. The support team at PortfolioSiteZ is awesome!! They are quick and friendly to work with, so they are my rockstars this week.
I'm also testing out a new proofing software for my clients. I'm going to be giving it a trial run for a couple weeks before deciding, but it should definitely make proofing and ordering a lot easier! Stay tuned...

If all goes well this week, my website will be transferred from one domain to another. Many of you have noticed that my biz name has changed from ABC Photography to Angela Wilkes Photography. I have tried to make this a gradual and smooth process for my clients and everyone else. Well, it is time for the final transition - to move my everything over to my new domain. I will maintain the previous ABC Photography domain and leave it parked at the site while I complete all the other details (like advertising, forms, etc).
I am unsure what all will be effected, so there may be a slight delay in accessing my blog, forms, client proofs, or even my main website. I promise to work on it 24/7 until everything is back up and running, so please be patient with me meanwhile. I will make an announcement here just before it all starts transferring.

Yes, I have done it again! I have redesigned my entire website in preparation for the new year. Not only has the layout changed, but the content and photos have been updated also. Some of the major changes include removing the Wedding section, adding a Boudoir section, and adding a Restoration section. And for my wedding clients, please do not fret! I will still be providing wedding photography, however it will be on a much more limited scale. In the near future, I will be adding the Wedding section back into the site with further details on the limited availability.
The new site has only been live for 2 days, but I am already receiving a lot of positive feedback and comments about it. I am still tweaking it and adding photos, so please be patient as it continues to change for the better. If you notice a mis-spellings or any other inconsistencies with the site, please let me know. (I've been staring at it so long that my eyes are crossing.)
I did another session with Amanda, Jay, and their boys last week. I did their first session about 3 years ago, and have had a few since then. I just finished up the latest pre-deploy session with their family at Will Rogers Park. Jay is shipping out for the 7th time. :( We (especially Lance) had fun at the park checking out the fish, climbing on rocks, and playing with baby Liam. Liam is their newest addition to the family, and he is such a cutie!!! I recently found out that they are moving to Michigan until Jay returns, so I probably won't get to capture the homecoming. But I truly wish the all the best in their new endeavors, and I sincerely hope to see them again soon!!!
I was recently contact by the Editor-in-Chief of Army Wife Magazine, Brandy. She was interested in writing an article about me and my participation in Operation: Love Reunited. We had the interview 2 days ago, on Tuesday, via Skype (we both had bad hair days, so no video was recorded). :) Anyway, the June issue of the magazine is about Art Appreciation, so the article should fit in nicely with the theme! Upon her request, I sent her a handful of photos I had taken at OpLove sessions. Once I find out which ones made the cut, I will notify those clients that their photos were selected! Brandy said she would let me know when the issue is released and the link to see it online. I'll be sure to pass it along to you as well as post it on my website. :)

I've been working on getting my website up and running. I think I am just about done, finally. I still have to add a portrait and seniors price list, but other than that, I think its ready!
Just for the sake of having some photos on this blog, I'll add a few from a senior photo session I recently did with Haley. Haley is a beautiful young lady who was full of energy and spirit.
